MedScript Overview

By simplifying the task of prescription writing, MedScript addresses the needs of many practicing care-providers. With MedScript, prescriptions are easily and quickly created on screen using customized templates that allow you to select drugs from your own drug library or by selecting from a master drug list (optional). Multiple prescriptions for a single patient may be created and faxed or emailed to the pharmacy or printed to paper in one simple process. Each prescription is automatically documented in the patient record and the medication log is always updated.

Better Documentation and Rx Management

MedScript allows the caregiver to quickly refill existing prescriptions or create one or more new prescriptions, preview them on screen, and email or fax them to the pharmacy with a few clicks of the mouse. MedScript’s Medication log instantly displays the patient’s list of all active medications. The Allergy List is always clearly displayed and all prescribed medications will be cross-checked with the information in the allergy list.

Efficiently Refill and Discontinue Prescriptions

Prescription refill requests account for as much as 40% of a physician’s care related calls, and consume hours of clinic staff time each day. MedScript provides the most automated and efficient Prescription refill/discontine functions available, with the ability to reduce refill management time by as much as 70%.

Easily Access Prescription History

MedScript’s Medication Report allows you to easily view a patient’s prescription history. The report are customizable according to range of Clinical Dates, Status, and/or Method.

Enhanced Communication with ViewPoint and I-Fax

New prescriptions and incoming refill requests are automatically associated with the patient and the patient’s pharmacy to expedite processing. The caregiver can view the patient’s record giving visibility to diagnoses, current medications, previous refills, and other medical information that has been stored. Caregiver can quickly process the refill or new prescriptions by fax or email. There is never a need to wait on hold for the pharmacy again! MedScript monitors the status of each faxed prescription and reports whether the fax was received, is pending or failed. Each prescription is automatically logged to the patient record and updated in the Medication Log.
